Travis Kelce Responds to His Slow Start to the 2024 NFL Season

Travis Kelceā€™s response after miserable moment sparked backlash

Travis Kelce is speaking out about his NFL stats so far this season.

The 34-year-old star tight end has had a down season compared to previous years.

ā€œWeā€™re finding ways to win games, but weā€™re not playing our best football. Everybody can clean it up. I think everyone saw my drop in the fourth quarter with that crucial third down,ā€ Travis said during the latest episode of his podcast, “New Heights.”

ā€œI think everyone saw my drop in the fourth quarter Āā€” the crucial third down ā€” just trying to do too much before putting the ball away. Thatā€™s probably the biggest thing for me ā€” making the play in big time moments like that,ā€ he shared.

ā€œI think with how defenses are playing us right now, Iā€™m not really getting a lot of opportunities to make plays down the field, but not using that as an excuse. Moving forward, [Iā€™m] still trying to make sure that I can help the team out in that regard,ā€ he said.

If you donā€™t know, when opposing teams play the Chiefs, they often account for how great Travis is. To account for this, opposing defenses will often use 2 defensive playmakers to cover him so that Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs quarterback, canā€™t throw him the ball without risking an interception.

The Chiefs play against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.

ā€œWhatever it is, itā€™s football baby! Come on now, Iā€™m not getting caught up in getting the targets and all that. I just wanna have a successful offense, and I think Patā€™s doing a great job of finding the open guy and making the right decisions right now,ā€ he added.

The Chiefs were trending online after their last win and weā€™re explaining why some NFL fans were not happy.
