During his NFL game, Travis Kelce, a great player for the Kansas City Chiefs, received an indirect message from Taylor Swift expressing her admiration.
The musical superstar watched the Chiefs defeat the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football in Week 5 from the stands at Arrowhead.
The ESPN cameras captured Swift in the Kansas City team suite during the Chiefs’ 26–13 victory.
The 34-year-old was spotted with her father, Scott, and was sporting red lipstick and glitter cosmetics on her face.
Then Swift took up a jeweled No. 87 cup and took a sip of her beverage from it.
Kelce’s Chiefs jersey number is that.
Fans spotted the sequence and were in awe of Swift’s support of Kelce.
“Love her repping the 87 cup,” one wrote.
“Supportive queen,” a second added.
“Taylor’s 87 cup is back. So adorable and iconic,” a third commented.
Levy Restaurants, one of the team’s concession suppliers, provided Swift’s cup to the Chiefs’ suite prior to the team’s Week 2 game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Additional cups were manufactured for Brittany, the wife of Patrick Mahomes, who got a No. 15 cup, and Sheawna Weathersby, the significant other of Chris Jones, who had a No. 95 cup.
In a statement to The Kansas City Star, a representative for Levy Restaurants stated, “We thought the cups would be a fun way to enhance hospitality in the Chiefs family and friends suite during last week’s game.”
“It was cool to see the attention they drew during the game.”
Swift saw Kelce record nine receptions for 70 yards after missing Kansas City’s previous two games.
Despite not scoring a touchdown for the second straight game, the nine-time Pro Bowler assisted the Chiefs in finishing the season with a 5-0 record.
Swift was not present at his 35th birthday celebration last weekend, nor was he at his two prior NFL games.
Every year, Kelce organizes Car Jam, a benefit for local children in Kansas City.
Rumors that Swift and the NFL star’s romance was on the downswing were dispelled by her participation at the game.
When she will appear on a gameday in the future is unknown.
