Taylor Swift’s generous heart is well-known, and she has proved it once more. A non-profit organization in Kansas City, Mo., announced on Saturday (Dec. 21) that the 14-time Grammy winner had recently given $250,000 to its cause. Operation Breakthrough, which strives to “provide a safe, loving, and educational environment for children in poverty and to empower their families through advocacy, emergency aid, and education,” posted a heartfelt video on social media to express its gratitude.
In the video, children enthusiastically express their gratitude to the pop superstar for her donation, with toddlers holding up bejeweled signs that read “thank you,” teens acknowledging the impact of her gift, younger fans declaring their adoration, and a Lego portrait of the singer-songwriter. Thank you, Taylor! We all love you!” exclaims one ecstatic little boy, who is wearing a Kansas City Chiefs beanie and riding a bike.
“Thank you, @taylorswift , for making our holiday season shine even brighter!” Operation Breakthrough captioned the post. “Your kindness and thoughtful 250K donation means the world to our children and families.”
The non-profit’s video was posted on the same day Swift attended boyfriend Travis Kelce’s game against the Houston Texans at Arrowhead Stadium, which Kansas City won 27-19, giving the team a 14-1 record. It was her first Chiefs game since wrapping up her historic Eras Tour on December 8 in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Earlier this month, just days after wrapping up her tour, Billboard’s Top Artist of 2024 paid visits to young children at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City who were being treated for blood diseases or cancer. Throughout her two-year journey across the world, she regularly gave large donations to food banks in the places where she performed.
