The Kansas City Chiefs are still reeling from the loss handed over by the Buffalo Bills in Week 11. It put an end to their hopeful undefeated season, and the Chiefs’s star players are disappointed in the outcome.
During a press conference, Patrick Mahomes talked about the loss and the team’s future game plans. While speaking to the media, he also said, “I mean there’s just I think a couple plays here and there kind of change the momentum of the game.
If you look at the throw to Xavier down the sideline or even a throw in the second, in the third quarter on second down, where I hit Trav, I probably hit Noah if I just wait on the progression.”
Patrick Mahomes clearly confessed he shouldn’t have passed to Kelce. And that the wait in his progression would have helped him in getting a better opportunity to score.
Nevertheless, at least he self-criticized what he did, with an aim to improve in high-pressure moments. This is evident in his further statement when he said, “Just little plays like that are what make the difference in a big game. And so just stuff is to go back & look and learn from it and try to get better.”
Patrick Mahomes is promising himself to get into a self-evaluation zone after the 30-21 loss. And why shouldn’t he? After all, he finished off Week 11 with 23 of 33 attempts for just 196 yards and 2 interceptions.
Besides that, he scored three touchdowns in the game. In addition to that, he also talked about the issues the Chiefs need to address. And this is the major issue, arguably.
The Chiefs put themselves in such a situation that they have to overcome in the last quarter. This situation puts them in a risky state. Hence, the three-time Super Bowl champ said, “I think just having a sense of urgency from the beginning of the games. I feel like offensively we can be better.
The way we start and the way we play throughout the entire game. Because you can tell whenever a lot of times in the fourth quarter when we need a score, we go right down the field, score.
And so if we can play the entire football game like that, it won’t put us in these situations where we’re in one-score games at the very end.”
So, all in all, it’s the time for every Chiefs’s blood to march towards victory together, giving their best in every game, from the start itself. And that’s what Travis Kelce wants from his teammates too!
