The American football star Travis Kelce referred to himself as a “American idiot” after seeing Prince William at Taylor Swift’s concert.
Thousands of fans and notable guests attended the pop star’s sold-out performances at Wembley Stadium over the weekend. After the show, she surprised her fans by posting a selfie with Prince William and his kids. On his 42nd birthday, the Prince of Wales celebrated with his daughter Princess Charlotte and son Prince George.
Sharing a picture of Taylor taking a picture with his kids, William wrote: “Thank you @taylorswift for a great evening! #LondonTSTheErastour.” Taylor also shared a selfie with the royals and her boyfriend Travis where she wrote: “Happy Bday M8! London shows are off to a splendid start.”
Travis has since shared what the meeting was like as he admitted: “I didn’t realise this because obviously we’re backstage meeting him because he was there with little George and Charlotte, and they were an absolute delight to meet. Wasn’t sure if I was supposed to like bow to them, curtsy, just be an American idiot and shake their hand.”
Speaking on his New Heights podcast with brother Jason, he added: “We wanted to be polite, especially on this side of the park.” Jason shared: “But they said that because we weren’t at like an official royal event, we didn’t need to bow or curtsy. If it would have been like an official meeting of royalty event, then it would have been that. But I did still address him as your royal highness.”
Travis quipped: “Yeah, no, 100%,” as Jason confessed: “And I’ve never felt emasculated.” The brothers shared more of their meeting as they praised Prince William and his children. Jason said: “I gotta say, Prince William was fantastic, but the highlight was Princess Charlotte. Prince George was great too. She was so f**ing adorable. Like I cannot express how, I don’t know, maybe it’s because I have three girls now. It was, she had fire to her. She was asking questions.”
At Wembley Stadium, Prince William, George, and Princess Charlotte were observed taking in the three-hour concert from a luxury box with a view of the thousands of people below. To the surprise of fans, the father-of-three is also seen in a viral video showing off his dance talents to Taylor’s smash song Shake It Off.
After their brief meeting, Travis also had a fairly straightforward opinion of the Prince of Wales. “Dude, Prince William was the coolest motherf****r,” he stated on his podcast. “He was awesome,” he continued, piling on the compliments. He was really awesome.” After starting a romantic relationship in September of last year, Travis chose to go on stage with Taylor for the first time in London. The athlete astounded the audience by stepping.As he emerged to dance with his pop star girlfriend, the sports star astounded the audience.
