The Kansas City Chiefs begin their quest for an historic third consecutive Lombardi Trophy on Saturday when they welcome CJ Stroud and the Houston Texans to Arrowhead Stadium for an AFC Divisional Round matchup. Like most playoff games in Kansas City, the forecast calls for bitter cold.
Forecasts call for temperatures around 25 degrees at kickoff with 15 mph winds expected to blow.
That combination will add up to give fans and players a real feel of around 10 degrees. And the forecast also expects it to get colder as the game goes on.
But it appears that nobody informed Chiefs superstar tight end Travis Kelce, who warmed up for the game in nothing more than a long sleeve t-shirt and a pair of shorts. By comparison, his older brother Jason was on site for ESPN’s pregame show wearing a gigantic jacket, a fur hat, and several layers.

ESPN host Scott Van Pelt asked Jason Kelce if his brother was always the “crazy guy that was out there is shorts in the snow.”
Jason said that they were both always “pretty reckless” when it came to cold weather, but that Travis was just always the stranger of the two. Jason also then noted that the neighborhood kids all thought Travis’ name was Charles because he spent years telling them that due to his love of Charles Barkley.
So yes, while the two brothers often seem extremely similar, they do have their differences. Travis’ approach echoes his words from a recent New Heights podcast episode where he claimed he wants “to slay every dragon one by one, like Mortal Kombat. I don’t even want this to be like we play the lowest seed. Just give me the best teams.”
It sure seems as if he’s as locked in as a player can be, and that’s great news for Chiefs fans.
