Postgame Handshake Between Travis Kelce and C.J. Stroud Captures Attention

The No. 4 seed Houston Texans fought until the end but ultimately couldn’t make enough plays down the stretch to keep up with the No. 1 seed Kansas City Chiefs, who won 23-14 to advance to the AFC championship. The story of the game was the Chiefs’ pass rush, which sacked Texans second-year quarterback C.J. Stroud eight times.

That’s a tough formula for success when you’re on the road facing a team of Kansas City’s caliber.

Despite the pressure, Stroud still completed 19 of 28 passes for 245 yards and rushed six times for 42 yards. On the Chiefs’ side, standout tight end Travis Kelce was the star, hauling in seven receptions for 117 yards and a touchdown.

However, it was Kelce and Stroud’s post-game interaction that garnered the attention. The two exchanged mutual respect after a hard-fought game, showing their sportsmanship. Check it out:

This was a historic game for Travis Kelce, as he not only recorded the longest reception of his postseason career but also surpassed 2,000 playoff receiving yards.

He now joins Jerry Rice as the only other player to achieve that milestone, and he did it all with Taylor Swift and Caitlin Clark in attendance, both cheering for the Chiefs.

While the Texans head home for the second consecutive season after falling short in the playoffs, the Chiefs will now await their opponent: the winner of the highly anticipated Sunday night showdown between the Baltimore Ravens and the Buffalo Bills in Orchard Park.
