On a recent Southwest Airlines trip, Taylor Swift’s father, Scott Swift, expressed his excitement about his daughter’s current relationship with NFL player Travis Kelce. According to PageSix, a fellow traveler posted the exchange on TikTok, detailing how Scott publicly commended Kelce and highlighted him as unique among Taylor’s previous relationships.
Scott said on the plane that he was thrilled about Taylor and Kelce’s relationship and that he much admires Travis as a person and as a partner for his daughter. He even went so far as to claim that Taylor’s life has been impacted by Kelce more than by any of her past partners.

The seatmate, who isn’t a huge Swift fan, acknowledged that she hadn’t asked Scott about Kelce. Scott, however, gladly shared his opinions, expressing his joy about his daughter’s present relationship and his pride in her job. He gave the traveler a Taylor Swift guitar pick as a tiny memento to acknowledge his relationship to one of the biggest names in music and to personalize their conversation.
Scott revealed that he had connections to the Kelce family prior to his daughter’s involvement with the football player, going beyond simply talking about Travis. He said he had faith in the Kelce family’s morals because he knew Ed McDevitt, the father of Travis’s sister-in-law Kylie Kelce. Scott claims that because he was already familiar with the family dynamics Taylor would be entering, this link made him especially excited about her relationship with Travis.
Scott also mentioned how busy he has been between work, Taylor’s Eras Tour, and going to Kansas City Chiefs games to cheer on Travis. The TikTok user described how Scott was proud of Taylor’s outstanding accomplishments and how he honored his daughter’s triumphs in all spheres of her life. At one of Taylor’s recent performances in Buenos Aires, Scott and Kelce were even seen supporting each other. On his “New Heights” podcast, Kelce reflected on their encounter and revealed that he had jokingly persuaded Scott to back his team, implying that the two have developed a sincere friendship. Scott Swift demonstrated his deep pride in his daughter and sincere satisfaction over her happiness by openly praising Taylor’s current relationship and subtly drawing a comparison to her previous relationships.
