The Kansas City Chiefs will be resting some of their key starters, including quarterback Patrick Mahomes, as they have already secured the No. 1 spot in the AFC.
Andy Reid, the head coach, declared earlier this week that Carson Wentz will start under center this weekend. Reid told reporters, “I’ve been through that before, so I’m not too worried about all that.”
“It gives the other guys an opportunity here to grow and you can use everybody. The primary thing is to make sure that we stay sharp in all areas through this game and for the upcoming weeks … We want to stay sharp mentally and physically and then that’s our responsibility to do that and how we manage the time. I make sure I do that practice-wise and the guys go out, players and coaches, and work on that.”
Star tight end Travis Kelce, who set the franchise record four touchdowns during Kansas City’s lopsided victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Christmas Day, is one of the players who is unlikely to play.
Although Taylor Swift, her girlfriend, was not there at the game, she made headlines this week for something she did before the team’s game versus the Texans.
“Wearing Uncle Travis’ Field Jersey, helmet, & glove and I have my very own jersey that my Uncle Reggie bought me. Aunty Swift even signed it for me!” said the son of one of Kelce’s friends.
Fans loved the gesture from Swift.

“I’m sorry but taylor co signing travis stuff, it’s always “uncle and aunty” now bc their people see them as one now… oh we don’t need a paper they’re already married sorry i don’t make the rules,” added another.
“i am remaining calm, cool and collected,” offered a third.
