Travis Kelce may be in the midst of celebrating his AFC Championship win, but Taylor Swift and Donna Kelce are already looking ahead to the Super Bowl—more specifically, to its host city of New Orleans.
According to the pair, Travis will “not [be] going to Bourbon Street” this time around, an apparent reference to a previous visit. More on that later.
The directive from Swift and Mama Kelce came right after the Kansas City Chiefs triumphed over the Buffalo Bills, winning 32-29 at Arrowhead Stadium.
After Travis mentioned that he “owed New Orleans a little something,” his mother quipped, “yes, you do.” Swift then told him not to go to Bourbon Street with Donna adding, “we know your history.”
So: what, exactly, is his history with the Big Easy? Donna was most likely referring to the 2010 Sugar Bowl, where Travis’s team, the Cincinnati Bearcats, squared up against the Florida Gators, Us Weekly reported.
Travis was slated to play but never did due to the fact that he failed a marijuana test. In addition to missing the game, which his team lost, he was also suspended for the season and lost his scholarship. Of course, that was 15 years ago, and since then, Travis has transformed from party boy to lover boy.
These days, it seems he spends most of time playing football, vacationing in Europe, and gushing about Taylor Swift.
As for Super Bowl LIX? If the Kansas City Chiefs can pull out a win against the Philadelphia Eagles, they will make history as the first-ever NFL team to win three Super Bowls in a row.
