Rams Bring Back Breakout Player from Last Season to Bolster Defense

Los Angeles Rams outside linebacker Michael Hoecht isn’t going anywhere.

On Thursday, the Rams signed him to a restricted free-agent tender contract.

 

 

The tender – right of first-refusal, which the Rams placed on Hoecht on March 13 – is for one year and worth at least $2,985,000, according to a release from the NFL.

 

 

Hoecht, 26, enjoyed a career season in 2023.

He landed his single-season best in sacks, with six. He also racked up 81 total tackles and started 17 games.

 

 

Hoecht has tallied 10.5 sacks, 124 total tackles, 20 QB hits and two forced fumbles across 51 games. He has started 26 games in three seasons with the Rams.

He first broke into the league as an undrafted free agent in 2021.
