Setback for the MVP! Patrick Mahomes has been winning everywhere except a few areas of his family life. His father, Pat Mahomes, was arrested just a few days before he won his 3rd Super Bowl.
He had 0.23 alcohol content during a traffic stop on Gentry Parkway in February this year. On the 27th of August, he pleaded guilty to DWI before the trial began. His fate has been decided now.
On September 23, 2024, the senior Mahomes was sentenced to 5 years probation with intense supervision in the first year. Smith County Court also suspended his license for 1 year and told him to install a breathalyzer ignition device in his vehicle.
Additionally, he must spend 10 days in jail. If he fails to comply, the sentence could be extended to 10 years in prison.
The Super Bowl winner hasn’t reacted to this situation yet. He keeps family things private. When his father was arrested in February, the MVP said, “He’s doing good.

I don’t really want to get into it too much, but he’s doing good for whatever the situation is. It’s a family matter. I’ll just keep it to the family, and that’s all I really have to say at this point.” Though he is trying to appear sane, the recent development must have worried him.
After all, his father trained him meticulously to become a winner. Pat Mahomes was a baseball player himself, playing in MLB for a decade. He even trained his son in baseball.
However, when Patrick Mahomes grew up, he decided to pursue a football career. Initially, the father wasn’t happy, but he later accepted and was often seen in the stadiums to cheer for his son. The QB has been helping his father get rid of his alcohol addiction since February.
