Jason Kelce Shares Mixed Emotions About Super Bowl

Travis Kelce Reacts to Jason Kelce’s Emotional Response to Chiefs’ Super Bowl Loss

Jason Kelce has opened up about what it was like watching his former team, the Philadelphia Eagles, face off against the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX. Although the Monday Night Countdown analyst made it clear that he was rooting for the Eagles, the win was undoubtedly bittersweet as it came at the expense of his brother, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

In a lengthly social media post early Tuesday, Kelce took the opportunity to formally congratulate the Eagles, his former teammates, and friends for being named champions.

He admitted that there were a lot of “emotions” during the game, but had taken some time to collect his thoughts, and “attempt to share them in the longest tweet ever.”

“That game was odd for me to watch if I’m being completely honest. I knew it was going to be mixed emotions before, during, and after, and I now know what my parents had to deal with two years ago,” Kelce wrote.

“On one hand, I wanted what is best for my brother, and to see his success. And on the other hand, there are so many people, teammates, and coaches, in the Philadelphia Eagles organization that I care deeply about, Many of whom I owe my own success to throughout my career.”

The 37-year-old was referring to the Eagles facing off against the Chiefs for Super Bowl LVII in 2023, which was affectionately dubbed the “Kelce Bowl” because both brothers’ opposing teams were playing. Their parents, Donna and Ed, could be seen prominently throughout the game supporting both of their sons.

Kelce went on, shouting out star quarterback Jalen Hurts, head coach Nick Sirianni, and the entire team. “The character and swagger of this Eagles team was something truly special to behold,” he gushed. “A true representation of the toughness and grit that makes Philadelphia what it is. Well done fellas, well f–king done.”

However, Kelce also had kind words of support for his brother and the Chiefs, who he also said should be proud of their accomplishments. “As for my brother, There isn’t a person I love or care about more. It has been tough to process these feelings, of course I feel for him and am always rooting for him, but I know he does not need, nor want my pity,” he continued.

“He has amassed greatness few on this planet could ever dream of, as has his team, and they should feel pride in their accomplishments this season and in the past.

I know right now they are still thinking of last night and the shortcomings in the last game, But in time that will fade, and the greatness they have exhibited as a group will remain as one of the most dominant eras of football ever.”

Kelce concluded his post by stressing that he loves the sport, the players, and the fans. “Congratulations Philadelphia, I look forward to the speeches and celebrations that will happen in the coming days,” he added.

“I mean who doesn’t love a parade! In the words of Chase Utley ‘World F–king Champs,’ and to all the haters out there, remember what my man Jay Ajayi said ‘F–k Em.’ Go Birds.”

The Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl victory parade is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 14 at a time yet to be determined. If the celebrations following Sunday’s big game are any indication, it’s guaranteed to be a lively affair.
