This season, Travis Kelce has battled with the Kansas City Chiefs, losing his form and drawing criticism for his efforts.
After a sluggish start to the 2017 NFL season, Jason Kelce is looking forward to his brother Travis’ performance to improve. Travis hasn’t performed well in the first few games, even though the Kansas City Chiefs have a 3-0 record and are predicted to make the Super Bowl.
Some critics have linked his recent slump to his friendship with pop sensation Taylor Swift, as the two have been regularly observed at public events.
In their most recent episode, Travis—who co-presents the New Heights podcast with Jason—addressed these criticisms. The three-time Super Bowl winner insists he’s “not worried” about his form right now and that things will work out in due course.
Jason agrees with his brother and shows obvious annoyance at the criticism. Jason won a Super Bowl during his great time with the Philadelphia Eagles. “It will go your way,” declared the former center.
“It’s gonna go your way, especially if you freaking keep being the guy you’ve always been. There ain’t nobody that I’ve ever played sports with – and nobody that anybody’s ever been on a team with – that has loved being out there with Trav more. It’s frustrating for me to watch and have to listen to, but I can’t wait.”Travis then expressed gratitude to his brother for his support, before Jason added: “I just can’t wait – I can’t ——- wait for it – to turn.”
ESPN pundit Todd McShay has raised eyebrows with his critique of Kelce’s recent form, questioning: “Are we not allowed to say that he’s out of shape? That he’s been partying all offseason? That he’s been jet-setting around with the most famous person probably in the entire world? That he’s drinking [and] going to the U.S. Open and he’s got cocktails?”

“It has everything to do with execution and just making sure we’re doing everything we can to win these football games, that’s always going to be the goal. I think everyone saw my drop in the fourth quarter and the crucial third down, just trying to do too much before putting the ball away.”
Travis Kelce also reflected on the need for clutch plays: “That’s probably the biggest thing for me is making the play in big-time moments like that. I think with how defences are playing us right now, I’m not really getting a lot of opportunities to make plays down the field, but not using that as an excuse.
“Moving forward, still trying to make sure I can help the team out in that regard knowing I’ve been that weapon for us in the past. Moving forward, everyone’s just tweaking their game in the right direction.”
