Jason Kelce Drops Major Hint About Potential New Career Move

Former Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro center Jason Kelce had quite the successful year as he transitioned from NFL star to sports media personality.

Kelce’s face was seemingly everywhere from commercials to “Monday Night Countdown” and “College GameDay” appearances on ESPN, to a Super Bowl 59 suite with Taylor Swift to support his brother Travis Kelce last weekend in New Orleans.

But just how long does Kelce plan to stick with broadcasting? Well, fans likely don’t have to worry about him disappearing from their television sets anytime in the near future.

During a recent appearance on the Barstool Sports podcast “Pardon My Take,” Kelce was asked if a move to coaching is potentially in his future, to which the 37-year-old former offensive lineman gave a candid response.

“Part of me would love to do that, but that would be a significant pay decrease from podcasting,” Kelce stated. “So, I’m navigating that. There’s also just the time commitment of those guys. It’s like, you know, I’ve got three young kids, a fourth on the way, and I don’t know that I’m ready for that yet.”

It was recently disclosed that Kelce’s three-year ESPN contract carries a total salary of $24 million, making him one of the highest-paid on-air personalities at the company.

He also signed a $100 million contract with Wondery, the podcast branch of Amazon, last year for his “New Heights” podcast, which he co-hosts with Travis, so few could blame Kelce for not wanting to walk away from sports media right now.

However, this isn’t the first time the topic of coaching has come up for Kelce.

The Cincinnati alum was also asked about making a career switch back in October during an interview with The Golfer’s Journal. He seemed a bit more open to it then but also disclosed that it could be something he considers years down the road once his kids are a little older.
