Jason Kelce Admits He'd Be 'Terrible' on The Traitors, But Says Brother Travis Kelce Would Be 'Good'

“I’m not savvy enough,” Jason admitted on a new episode of the pair’s ‘New Heights’ podcast

Jason Kelce believes he knows which Kelce brother—and it’s not him—could betray and maneuver their way out of a murder-mystery situation at a Scottish castle!

In the episode of New Heights, which he co-hosts with his brother Travis Kelce, which aired on Wednesday, September 25, the two talked about what would happen if they were given the chance to participate in the popular Peacock competition show, The Traitors.

The show, which is presented by Alan Cumming, follows about twenty reality TV celebrities as they compete in a murder mystery to find the three “traitors” in their cast, with the goal of winning a $250,000 reward.

“Dude, you would f—— crush it on Traitors,” the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, 34, told Jason, 36, who responded, “Traitors? I’m terrible,” before refering to a time he’d taken part in a version of the game while climbing.

After admitting he’s “an awful liar,” Jason was told by his brother that, in the series, there’s a chance to use “that to your advantage.”

“But I’m not savvy enough,” Jason said. “We did it one time, climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro. I was voted… right away they knew. They’re like, ‘Jason’s a traitor’ and I was like, ‘No I’m not!’

After that, Travis gushed about the show to his brother, calling it “funny to see everyone have to defend themselves when the entire table is pointing at them saying they’re a traitor,” a reference to the round table scene in the series where the contestants attempt to identify and expel the “traitors” from the cast.

“And to see how someone reacts under pressure. I f—— love it. And sometimes people just f—— fold,” he said.

“Dude, I’m taking notes,” Jason added. “There’s some people that say some stuff where you’re like, ‘Wow, that’s a good one.'”

As Travis explained to his brother, he just wants to “play the game.”

“I do think I’d be better as a faithful,” the Kansas City Chiefs star said, refering to the non-traitorous members of the show’s cast.

Jason, in response, told him he’d be “good in either one of ’em.”

“If you can be a lead actor in an FX original series,” Jason concluded referring to Travis’ appearance in Grotesquerie, before Travis laughed that “lead actor” was a “f—— stretch.”

The cast of The Traitors’ upcoming third season was unveiled back in June, and it includes well-known figures from the reality TV industry like Big Brother alum Danielle Reyes, Tom Sandoval of Vanderpump Rules, and Chrishell Stause of Selling Sunset.

As the show won its first Emmy earlier this month in the category of best reality competition program, Cumming expressed gratitude to Scotland, the location of the show’s filming, for being “such a beautiful costar.”
