A listener who was experiencing a lull in his marriage received some frank advise from Travis Kelce on his podcast, New Heights, which caused some people to take notice. In order to revive the romance, Kelce suggested going to Spencer’s for some novelty things and made lighthearted suggestions about doing “role play” with his brother Jason.
Some of his girlfriend Taylor Swift’s admirers didn’t like the suggestion, calling his strategy “disrespectful.”
Swift, 34, seemed unfazed by Kelce’s remarks, according to people close to her, despite the criticism. According to those who understand the singer’s viewpoint, Travis’ intentions were entirely playful, and she values his sense of humor and open-mindedness when discussing relationship issues.
“Taylor doesn’t have a problem with it,” a source told DailyMail.com.
“Nobody close to Taylor thinks badly of Travis. They are all 100 per cent supportive.
“His comments about his sex life were not said in a creepy way, he was being honest.
“Travis has a healthy relationship with Taylor. He’s smart enough to not put his foot in his mouth and say or do something stupid to derail that. What he said was appropriate.”
Insiders claim that Kelce’s advise, which addressed a listener’s difficulty with intimacy, emphasized his fun side, demonstrating his romantic nature and his attempts to help people who are having relationship difficulties.
“I will personally mention that I have no idea what that’s [like],” Travis said.
“Maybe just try to get some candles, get some rose petals, try and be a little romantic.
“Set the mood a little bit more. Maybe you just gotta rekindle that flame a little more.
“Get that thing going, take her to a nice restaurant. These are all things I would try and do.
“Women, they’re weird. They don’t just always want to have sex.
“I don’t know why, they don’t operate on the same wavelength as us… Women like to be sought after.”
Although some fans might have thought the remarks were too direct, Kelce’s main goal was to offer useful, if unorthodox, suggestions for maintaining interest in a relationship.
