Travis Kelce‘s father, Ed Kelce, believes the NFL star and Taylor Swift will be able to ‘connect more’ once Sunday’s Super Bowl is out of the way.
The Kansas City Chiefs star is aiming to guide his side to history as they bid to become the first team to win the competition three years in a row.
They will lock horns with the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday in a match that will be viewed by millions around the world.
One person set to cheer on Kelce is Swift, who has been a regular at his matches during their time together.
Ed, speaking on Australia’s Today Show, believes the pair will be able to spend more time together once the Super Bowl is out of the way.
And that’s something he thinks ‘can only be a good thing’.
“I think we get past the Super Bowl, I think it’s going to be a very good time for the two of them without the NFL season, without the Eras tour, just them alone really connecting more,” he said.
“I think that can only be a good thing.”
On Swift, he continued: “She’s learning much more about football.
“She’s watching football with her dad a lot. She’s watching football whenever she can.”
As the Super Bowl rapidly approaches, there have been rumours that Swift will perform alongside Kendrick Lamar at half time.
But Ed, when quizzed about that speculation, opted to keep his cards close to his chest.
“I have no idea. I haven’t talked to Taylor this week,” he continued.
“I have no idea what her plans are. I would let her publicist talk to you about that.”
There have also been rumors that Kelce could propose to Swift if the Kansas City Chiefs etch their name into the history books.
But Ed, understandably, isn’t giving anything away.
“Did you really think I was going to come up with that?” he said.
