Following his recent appearance on “Manningcast” during Monday Night Football, viewers were divided on what or who Bill Belichick was criticizing.
During the Kansas City Chiefs vs. New Orleans Saints game on Monday, October 7, many conjectured that Belichick was upset at another sighting of Taylor Swift. It turns out, though, that the famed coach was just responding to the Saints’ defense’s dismal on-field performance.

NFL greats Peyton and Eli Manning were joined by the 72-year-old former Patriots coach during the Chiefs’ 26-13 victory over the Saints in the second quarter. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes guided the Chiefs down the field to set up a field goal as the half was coming to an end. At that point, Belichick lost all control of his annoyance with the Saints’ defensive performance and groaned as they were unable to stop tight end Travis Kelce, who is also Swift’s boyfriend, from moving out of bounds and stopping the time.
The timing of the Pats legend’s irritated sigh coincided perfectly with a moment when Swift, 34, appeared on the broadcast, roaring from her suite for her boyfriend’s side after a successful catch and run. The entire exchange is made funnier by the Manning twins, who are visible in the video laughing at Belichick’s response.
In a video on X (formerly Twitter) of the moment, fans flooded the replies leaving their comments on the viral video. “Paton and Eli just giggling in the background makes it even better,” noted one, while another said, “Bill speaking for everyone.”
Many more people noted that Belichick is known to be an admirer of the 14-time Grammy winner. One person remarked, “Says the guy that was wearing TS shirt over the weekend,” in reference to a picture of Belichick and his 24-year-old girlfriend Jordan Hudson from Sunday, October 6, in which the two were wearing a Swift shirt.
But it’s crucial to remember that the entire context of the video indicates that Belichick’s annoyance was directed solely at what was happening on the field, not in the stands.
