After the hectic energy and friendship bracelet-wearing camaraderie of her nearly two-year tour ended last year, Swifties are feeling the loss. However, Kelce seemed to confirm that Swift’s first major appearance of 2025 is so soon after sharing that she’ll be attending the next Chiefs game.
Now that the dust has settled on Taylor Swift’s discography-spanning Eras Tour, the singer of “Cruel Summer” has stepped back out of the spotlight, save for the occasional public date night with boyfriend Travis Kelce and stylish Chiefs-coded appearances at his Kansas City football games.
Swift will be in the house on Saturday, January 18, when the Chiefs play the Houston Texans in the playoff game at Arrowhead Stadium, the athlete disclosed during a visit on The Pat McAfee Show on Saturday, January 11. Without mentioning Swift by name, host Pat McAfee posed the question that was on everyone’s mind: “Will there be an aura in that location, a little bit extra? “You understand what we’re discussing,” he said to Kelce.
“Oh yeah, you know it, baby,” Kelce confidently confirmed. “It’s playoff football, man.” He also dropped in a reference to his girlfriend’s song “22” as he talked about his head space ahead of the game: “I’m fired up. I’m feeling 22 all over again. Baby, let’s go.”
Wearing a black bucket hat, plaid checkered tights, knee-high black suede boots, and a red suede coat trimmed with faux fur, the singer last appeared at a Chiefs game on December 21 to watch the two-time reigning champions defeat the Texans. Now that her hectic touring schedule isn’t a factor, the “So Long, London” star has started attending Chiefs games more frequently. However, Kelce seemed to imply that Swift spends her free time creating new music.
McAfee mentioned in the interview that the Grammy Award winner’s eagerly awaited twelfth album might feature further Kelce-inspired tracks, such as “So High School” and “The Alchemy.”
“I’ve listened to all the albums, I’ve heard about them all … I appreciate you, dude,” he told the tight end. “I also think there’s one coming where it’s going to be great, like, a guy good thing. Like, that’ll be great, in my house.”
Kelce revealed “there might be a few” new songs on the way, but went mum when asked if he’d heard any of the potential singles. “You know I can’t say, you know I can’t say…any of that,” the athlete responded. “I hear music everywhere.”
However, he was quick to share that he’s supportive of whatever Swift decides to write about. “Oh yeah, c’mon now, you know it,” he added. “I’ll never chime in, but you already know I’m here to support it, I’m here to see where it can go, you know what I mean.”
