Travis Kelce’s resume can now include another accomplishment!

On Sunday, November 24, in Charlotte, North Carolina, the Kansas City Chiefs played the Carolina Panthers. The 35-year-old tight end snagged a pass from quarterback Patrick Mahomes and gained 19 yards. Kelce is now the tight end with the third-most receiving yards in NFL history, surpassing Los Angeles Chargers great Antonio Gates.

Kelce currently has 11,854 receiving yards, while Gates’ record is 11,841 yards.

Only two NFL tight ends have more receiving yards than Kelce: Tony Gonzalez, a former Chiefs player, with 15,127 yards, and Jason Witten, a tight end for the Dallas Cowboys, with 13,046 yards.

Among his many other NFL records, Kelce’s 1,416 receiving yards in 2020 made him the tight end with the most receiving yards in a single season. He was also the fastest player in history to reach 10,000 receiving yards.

The game show presenter has won the title every season for the last seven years and also owns the record for the most seasons in which a tight end has 1,000 receiving yards.

Even though Kelce still needs a few thousand receiving yards to break Gonzalez’s record, he defeated the former Falcons player to win another championship: the Chiefs’ longest pass-catching streak, which saw Kelce catch passes in 158 straight games.

The athlete said that he didn’t feel like he performed to his full potential during Kansas City’s Sunday, Nov. 17, loss to the Buffalo Bills, despite his most recent success.

During the Nov. 20 episode of his podcast, New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce, the NFL player reviewed their 21-30 loss and voiced his frustration.

He gets “fired up” every time the Chiefs play the “best” teams in the NFL, like the Bills, who are presently leading the AFC East with a 9-2 record, the tight end informed his brother, Jason Kelce.

While he was “fired up for this one,” Travis said — referring to the match against the Bills — he admitted, “I didn’t play my best.”

“And that s—, it pisses me off, and it made me, you know, go right back into work on Monday after the game and get after it and find a way to make s— right,” he continued,

“I think this is something that you won’t see out of us in the future. A lot of this s— is very fixable and I’ve got all the faith in the world in this team,” he added.
