Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is, by far, one of the most popular players in the NFL. Not only is a future Pro Football Hall of Famer at his position, but he also has an immense following outside of the sport.
Of course, this is due to his relationship with Taylor Swift, the 14-time Grammy Award winning popstar who is widely considered to be the most popular musical artist in the world.
Their relationship brought many fans from Swift’s fanbase to the Chiefs’, a development that was met with mixed reactions from long-time Kansas City faithful.
Regardless of the reactions, the fact remains that Kelce and Swift are heavily covered by the media. Indeed, just about every aspect of their lives, for better or worse, is written or talked about. And sometimes, what is reported is not true.
Kansas City Chiefs Tight End Travis Kelce Sets the Record Straight on Latest Rumor Involving Taylor Swift
Recently, it was reported that Kelce had purchased a $3.3 million mansion. And, according to the report, he was not intending to use it as a residence for himself or Swift. Instead, he was donating it to charity.
And while he was praised for his generosity, the Chiefs tight end wanted to set the record straight regarding that report.
On his “New Heights” podcast, hosted with his brother Jason Kelce, the Kansas City legend said, “I gotta make a little statement in the ‘don’t believe everything you read, kids’ category or nice realm that you see online,” and adding that, “Some false claims were thrown out there that I was doing something in the community that I was not, and I’m not even gonna talk about it specifically. I don’t want to bring any more attention to that whole nonsense and article and all that stuff.”
He also said that if anyone, “ever want[s] to know exactly what I’m doing in the community, just go to 87running.org ,” referencing his foundation.
“We’re always trying to get out there in and get in the Kansas City communities and the Cleveland community. But this time, I wasn’t doing what was falsely claimed by the social channels or the outlets posting all this A.I. stuff. So, just wanted to set the record straight.”
One must really admire Kelce for shooting down a report that put him in a positive light. It shows a great deal of integrity. He could have said nothing and allowed the praise to pile up.
As for the purpose of the purchase, well, that is his business (and possibly Swift’s as well).
