Travis Kelce has issued an X-rated warning to his Chiefs teammates after their unbeaten season was ended by the Bills. The back-to-back Super Bowl champions won their first nine games of the NFL campaign before falling to a 30-21 loss in Buffalo.
Taylor Swift skipped the loss, which came after a couple of narrow escapes for the Chiefs. Kansas City will look to bounce back against the 3-7 Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
And, speaking on the latest episode of his New Heights podcast, Kelce said there could be no excuses inside the locker room.
‘I don’t give a f** how your body is feeling, I don’t give a f*** where your mentality is off the field,’ he told brother Jason.
‘When you step into that building, we are here to figure s*** out. We are here to get better as football players for the football team.
‘That is a mentality going forward that everybody has to be a part of – top down, myself included.
‘I have to be the leader I’ve been in the past and hold myself accountable so everybody sees how it’s done.’
The Chiefs had won 15 straight games, stretching back to Christmas Day last year.
But Patrick Mahomes and Co have this season struggled to hit the heights that carried them to a second straight Super Bowl and Kelce said this must be a wake-up call.
‘Sometimes you just need that smack in the face… to lock in and know it’s an “any-given-Sunday”-type league,’ Kelce said.
‘I’m not saying that (the Bills) was just any other team. But I do believe we have better players and if we get another shot at that team, I’d definitely get excited about it.’
