Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce recently opened up about a quirky reason his teammates have been teasing him this NFL season.
On the latest episode of the “New Heights” podcast, Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce tackled a fan’s question about facial hair, which led to a hilarious conversation and some surprising revelations.
During the episode, a listener called in to ask for advice on how to tell her husband that she doesn’t like his clean-shaven look. Jason Kelce joked that it was a tricky situation. “What you’re really saying is you don’t like the way your husband’s face looks,” he quipped.
But Travis Kelce didn’t hold back, offering some tough love with his signature blunt humor. “If you’ve got a husband that looks better with a beard, tell him!
Don’t let him walk around with a face that hurts your soul,” Travis Kelce laughed, making his point clear. The conversation then shifted to Travis Kelce’s famous mustache that has been a huge part of his look.
Travis Kelce admitted that his mustache has been a running joke among his teammates, but he embraces the fun. “I’ve been getting cooked all year for having a mustache,” the NFL star said. Despite the teasing, the Chiefs player remains unfazed, explaining that it’s all in good fun.
His mustache not only brings him personal enjoyment but also pays tribute to Coach Andy Reid, whose own mustache has become legendary.
Known as the “Andy Reid special,” the mustache has become a symbol of success for the Chiefs, as the team has won three Super Bowls since Travis Kelce began growing it out.
In October, Travis Kelce told People how growing the facial hair has become part of his ritual to start each season. “There’s magic to the stache. It brings success,” Travis Kelce joked. As the Chiefs continue their winning streak, it seems the “magic” of Travis Kelce’s mustache is here to stay, much to the amusement of his teammates.
