The Kansas City Chiefs haven’t lost a football game in almost a year. The two-time defending Super Bowl winners have won 15 straight games, including the playoffs from the previous season. On Sunday, they maintained this outstanding winning streak with a spectacular blocked field goal attempt against the Denver Broncos.
Naturally, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce played a part in the Chiefs’ 16–14 comeback victory over the fiercely competitive Broncos. Swift continued to be Kansas City’s “good luck charm” and adopted celebrity daughter as she watched her 18th Chiefs game in less than a year; Kelce got a touchdown from Patrick Mahomes in the second quarter. Kelce is continually coming up with fresh methods to “induct” Swift into “Chiefs Kingdom,” which is what the franchise has named its passionate and ever-expanding fanbase.

In an appearance on the radio show of veteran Chiefs commentator Mitch Holthus on Monday to celebrate the Broncos’ victory, Kelce said that he tells Swift to pay attention to Holthus’ play-by-play calls whenever the champions do anything amazing.
“You already know I rave about you,” Kelce told Holthus. “Every single time. Whenever we make big plays and I always hear the radio call come across my timeline, I make sure she listens in. Because you always fire everybody up, baby.”

As the Chiefs’ radio play-by-play commentator for almost 30 years, Holthus has witnessed firsthand how dominant Kansas City has been over the rest of the NFL in recent years. Kansas City would complete the NFL’s first-ever “three-peat” if the Chiefs, who have won the Super Bowl three times since 2019, win another one this season.
Ultimately, though, Swift and Kelce are both Chiefs supporters. Swift has welcomed the city and Kelce’s Chiefs teammates, and Kelce is proud of the close ties he has made with the Kansas City community. It appears that a face-to-face meeting between Holthus and Swift is imminent.
