Nope, no Taylor Swift sighting at the Kansas City Chiefs’ VIP box at SoFi Stadium in L.A. Sunday night. That makes the second of bf Travis Kelce’s games in a row that the pop star has recently missed.
Naturally, Swifties had to wonder if trouble was afoot thanks to a recent nasty rumor that their relationship was staged as a PR stunt.
The “leaked document,” which first floated around Reddit and then spread like wildfire, had their “contract ending” on Saturday. The “Comprehensive Media Plan” was denounced by Kelce’s reps in a statement as fake news.
“These documents are entirely false and fabricated and were not created, issued, or authorized by this agency,” a Full Scope spokesperson told People magazine.
“We have engaged our legal team to initiate proceedings against the individuals or entities responsible for the unlawful and injurious forgery of documents.”
So where was Swift then? Probably really busy with her awesome career, is our guess — there’s talk of a new album coming out. Moreover, California isn’t exactly a quick dash from her homebase in New York City, even if you have a private jet 24/7 at your disposal.
The 34-year-old singer is currently on a break from her grueling, international Eras tour, and she is human and humans need to rest on occasion.
So if home games at Arrowhead Stadium are more her jam, Kelce plays the New Orleans Saints on Oct. 7, as per the team’s schedule. The Monday Night Football match-up falls two days after the baller’s 35th birthday, so we would assume they will be together next weekend to celebrate.
Swift’s next stop is in Miami Gardens at Hard Rock Stadium for a three nighter, Oct. 18-20. Will Kelce be at any of those shows? That remains to be seen.
He has a game across the country yet again Oct. 20 in Santa Clara, California, vs. the San Francisco 49ers. A sports insider told us that he’s not technically prohibited to fly before a big game, per se, but NFL honchos may not want their star tight end jet lagged, especially since he’s been struggling of late.
We do know Kelce, who is originally from Ohio, likes Florida, and works with a trainer in the off season in Boca Raton. Plus, the Super Bowl champ’s family has a place near Orlando.
Perhaps the couple will return to the Sunshine State over the holidays when the weather is more stable and cools down. Hopeless romantics rooting for these two can only hope.
