For the last four years, the Kansas City Chiefs have been a dominant team. Patrick Mahomes and company have had a strong chance of winning the game regardless of who they have faced. Joe Burrow, on the other hand, has been the Chiefs’ number one quarterback since joining the league.
He is still the only active NFL quarterback to defeat the Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes in the postseason. Every time Cincinnati and Kansas City play each other, the spectators are treated to an exciting game that has them all on the edge of their seats. Fans won’t see that showdown in the postseason this season, though.
“Omg, the Chiefs are scared of the Bengals! That’s why they lost on purpose!”

After the Chiefs’ 38-0 thumping loss to the Broncos in Week 18, the 9-8 squad was eliminated from the playoffs.
Because of this, there is a belief that the Chiefs intentionally dropped their last game to avoid playing the Bengals in the postseason. Star tight end Travis Kelce, however, corrected this story. Though fate had other ideas, the tight end wanted Joe Burrow and the Bengals to participate in the playoffs.
I ain’t scared of f***ing nobody. I wanted them in the f***ing playoffs. I want to slay every dragon one by one like Mortal Kombat. I don’t even want this to be like we play the lowest seeds. Give me the best teams, AFC, NFC, give me all of them…I’ll go through every f***ing one of them.
Travis Kelce said in an assertive tone on the New Heights Show
Nothing would make a player more competitive than to face and defeat the greatest of the best. When his brother brought up this story, Travis Kelce became enraged quickly, displaying his true competitive character.
He proposed an interesting alternative to put the rumors to rest. Travis Kelce wants the Chiefs and Bengals to play a backyard football game when the season finishes.
I’ll play em at the Walmart parking lot. I don’t give a s***. We can have our own game in the off-season…Listen, I love competing against the greatest. The Bengals were a fun a** f****ing team to watch there towards the end of this season.
Travis Kelce exclaimed
It would be fantastic if this game became a reality. Following the Super Bowl, a Netflix special game featuring two of the top teams would be quite popular.
To play their starters in Week 18 and run the risk of hurting their best players in order to set up a playoff game versus Cincinnati would have been illogical. Despite their best efforts in the final weeks of the regular season, the Bengals are to blame for their inability to make the playoffs; it was too little, too late.
