Travis Kelce had a “blast” performing alongside Taylor Swift during her Eras Tour concert in London. The 34-year-old Kansas City Chiefs tight end bragged about his surprise skit on Wednesday’s episode of his “New Heights” podcast, jokingly adding that it was “very unlike” him to “be a ham.” He said, “I was up there with three professionals.” Taylor is unbeatable onstage. [I kept reminding myself], “Don’t drop the baby.” “Hold onto the baby.”
Kelce recounted to his brother and co-host, Jason Kelce, how the appearance came about, confessing that he was the one who “initially mentioned it” with his fiancée. “I was like, ‘How fun would it be if I just rolled out on one of the bikes during the “1989” era?’” he recalled. “She started laughing and was like ‘Would you seriously be up for doing something like that?’
“I was like, ‘What? I would love to do that. Are you kidding me? I’ve seen the show enough. Might as well put me to work here,’” Travis continued. “She found the perfect part of the show to put me in. … It was, like, the safest option.” Travis shocked concertgoers in June when he popped out onstage during a transition for the “Tortured Poets Department” set.
The athlete, who wore a tailored suit and top hat, carried Swift across the stage bridal-style before placing her down on a scarlet bed — all while urging himself not to “f-k this up.” Travis then jokingly fanned himself as the other dancers assisted the pop diva in changing out of her white gown and into a two-piece set, informing Jason that he copied his routines after Jim Carey from “Dumb and Dumber.”
Travis Kelce also said “Who knows, might not be the last time”. While Swift remained in character, Kelce, who admitted to feeling “tiny” onstage, couldn’t stop smiling, as evidenced by her following love-filled Instagram post. Before beginning “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart,” the 14-time Grammy winner gave her boyfriend a subtle kiss.
Travis went to all three of Swift’s sold-out gigs across the pond, however Jason and his wife, Kylie Kelce, were only in town for the first two, missing their family member’s big stage debut. Travis and Swift fell hard and quickly after starting dating last summer.
During an appearance on the “Bussin’ With the Boys” podcast, which aired last Tuesday, the three-time Super Bowl champion explained what made him fall in love with the “Cruel Summer” singer. Travis told co-hosts Will Compton and Taylor Lewan that Swift didn’t want any special treatment the first time he invited her to one of his Chiefs games.
