Kansas City Chiefs pair Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes are getting closer to opening their steakhouse in Kansas City, called 1587 Prime. The pair is working with hospitality company Noble 33, and they are now putting up that they are looking for an executive chef.
Per Kansascity.com, the steakhouse will also offer cheeseburgers in reference to Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, who as we know, loves cheeseburgers.
Given that Mahomes and Kelce are opening a steakhouse, one could be forgiven for thinking that it will be a high-class restaurant for people, but as is the way Mahomes and Kelce do their business, they want to make it affordable for the “everyday” person.
“We actually thought about that and we don’t want to make it too upscale, too high price that not everybody can go, so we’re gonna make it a place where hopefully Kansas City can call it home and that everybody can be there and really enjoy it,” Mahomes said via Kansascity.com.
While there is officially no date set for 1587 Prime to be opened, the fact that Noble 33, the hospitality company working with Kelce and Mahomes, is looking for an executive chef, signals that perhaps things are getting close.
Set to be located at the Loews Kansas City hotel at 1515 Wyandotte St. per Kansascity.com, it is clear that both Mahomes and Kelce are laying down roots in the city.
Exactly when it will open isn’t known, but things are being pushed along, and we imagine that when it finally does open, hundreds upon hundreds will make their way to the two-floor steakhouse to see what all the fuss is about.
We can certainly envision Chiefs players hanging out there.
And other celebrities.
And a certain girlfriend of Kelce’s.
