Travis and Jason Kelce recently discussed their mother Donna Kelce’s historic Hallmark Countdown To Christmas debuts. They did, however, become a bit finicky about one specific aspect of her involvement in Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story.
What were the opinions of the two Kelce brothers on Mama Kelce? In addition, when will Mama Kelce’s two Hallmark Christmas films be released?
The Kelce brothers discussed their mother, Donna Kelce, and Hallmark films in the most recent episode of the New Heights podcast. Their mother’s performing career is something Travis and Jason are proud of. Jason has to acknowledge, though, that Hallmark is not his typical movie channel.
“I have to admit, I haven’t seen a lot of Hallmark movies,” Jason said. “I’m excited to watch this one,” he continued. They discussed Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story, the first NFL-Hallmark joint venture. Tyler Hynes and Hunter King, a former cast member of Young and the Restless, are the main actors in this Christmas film. But their attention was on Mama Kelce.
She portrays the manager of a BBQ restaurant in Kansas City called Norma & Nic’s. In the previews, she wears a Kansas City Chiefs jersey with the number 87, Travis’s number.
This is where the brothers got nitpicky. Jason started, “Mom can cook a lot of things, I don’t think she’s ever made barbecue for us.” He added, “Not even barbecue sauce…that was dad’s deal.” Sounds like Donna has an opportunity to really act as barbecue is not part of her cooking repertoire.
The brothers then discussed their father, Ed Kelce’s special barbecue sauce. Jason revealed, “This thing is nothing but other sauces and other condiments combined to make one sauce.” Travis laughed at Jason’s joke.
