There’s no denying that NFL tight end Travis Kelce and his well-known girlfriend Taylor Swift go above and beyond to maintain their public relationship. Despite performing at a sold-out show in Tokyo the day before the 2024 Super Bowl, the “Cruel Summer” hitmaker showed up to support her boyfriend. To make sure she could return in time, the pop artist actually boarded a 10-hour flight to Los Angeles as soon as her fourth straight engagement in the city ended. It is therefore not unexpected that Swift managed to have a casual lunch with Kelce during his filming of “Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity?” despite her hectic schedule.
The “Love Story” hitmaker reportedly joined her beau for a short bite in his trailer during filming, according to reality star Lala Kent, who participated in the game show as a celebrity competitor, in an extra episode of the “Give Them Lala” podcast. Swift maintained a very low profile, according to the “Vanderpump Rules” actress, with co-host and assistant Jessica Walter remembering, “I see a giant black SUV, and then we start hearing whispers on set.” For example, why is that black SUV there? Taylor Swift, our lady, was just dropping by Travis’ trailer.
Similarly, Swift had visited the set on a separate day than her, according to Entertainment Tonight’s interview with fellow Bravo star Garcelle Beauvais, who participated in the game show as a celebrity panelist. Although it makes sense that the A-list pair kept their lunch date low-key, they often don’t hesitate to show the public how much they love each other.
In a June 2024 interview with the “Bussin’ With the Boys” podcast, Travis Kelce revealed that when Taylor Swift went to her first Kansas City Chiefs game the previous season, he had given her the choice to remain totally anonymous. The world-conquering music singer, however, rejected him and chose to enter normally like everyone else. “And she just walked through the front door,” Kelce attested to. “There was no going down, talking to security […] She was just like, ‘I want to be around the family and friends and experience this with everybody.”
The famous tight end also acknowledged that the “August” singer’s insistence on normalcy won him over right away. Since he has handled their relationship in an equally traditional way, Kelce clearly takes a lead from Swift when it comes to public criticism. Despite the fact that most famous couples would rather enjoy Coachella backstage, the Grammy winner and NFL player defied convention and joined the pit.
In an episode of his “New Heights” podcast, Kelce provided some context for their choice, explaining that “I like to see it from the fans’ perspective, ’cause I am, I’m a fan of music.” The athlete was so enamored with Swift’s music that he finally got tired of seeing her from the VIP tent and momentarily joined her onstage in London. It should come as no surprise that Swift’s alleged issue with Kelce is very different from Joe Alwyn’s.
