Taylor Swift's Message to the Audience During KC Eras Tour Shocks Fans

Taylor Swift fans are looking back at a previously innocuous moment from the singer’s Eras Tour stop in Kansas City.

Travis Kelce famously failed to slip her his phone number on a friendship bracelet months before the two started dating—under new light after a clip resurfaced online.

During the second night of the city’s two tour dates, Swift uttered the wrong words to “Last Kiss” as she began playing it as the second surprise song of the night, joking that she got “too excited” and asking the audience, “Will you allow me the honor of starting over?”

At the time, it seemed like a sweet, slightly self-deprecating acknowledgment of the error (which she would hysterically go on to repeat the second time).

But approaching two years into her relationship with the legendary tight end, fans are finding a “double meaning” in her words that nobody could’ve possibly imagined at the time.

“this was CRAZY like wdym she said ‘will you allow me the honor of starting over’ in Kansas City…with him in the audience… while he was hoping to give her a friendship bracelet…” one fan asked on X as they posted the video on March 13, noting how the question could also be read as directed at Kelce.

“This is proof the universe works in mysterious ways,” one fan affirmed as they retweeted the clip.

“She didn’t realize the double meaning of what she was saying,” one fan wrote in response to the viral upload, while others dropped emotional emojis.

“,” one simply commented, while another replied, “Wait this is so .” “The day the prophecy was changed,” someone else pointed out, referencing one of the two tracks on The Tortured Poets Department that are all but confirmed to be about Swift’s relationship with the athlete.
