Taylor Swift donates to LA Wildfire Relief amid 'suffering, loss & destruction'

For the first time, Taylor Swift took to social media to confront the horrific wildfires that are destroying Los Angeles.

The pop star addressed the fires and the charities that have been assisting the community on Thursday, January 16, on her Instagram Story. This was especially important because the fires have been destroying and devastating the area. Taylor also made donations to the charities she mentioned.

“As so many people embark on some of the most challenging times of their lives, there are also many amazing organizations and groups banding together to help these communities rebuild,” she added, “These are the organizations I’ve donated to. If you feel compelled or able to donate, please do.”

She continued by listing the organizations to which she had donated: the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, the Los Angeles Unified School District Education Foundation Emergency Relief Fund, MusiCares, Pasadena Educational Foundation Eaton Fire, 211 LA, California Community Foundation Fund, Direct Relief, Greater Los Angeles Education Foundation, and Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles.

Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, Leo DiCaprio, and other celebrities have also contributed money to aid those impacted at this time. According to the marketing business The A List, Jennifer made a “generous donation” to help the Pasadena Education organization and the L.A. Schools’ Education Foundation, and Beyoncé’s BeyGood organization donated $2.5 million to an L.A. Fire Relief Fund she founded.

Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, Jelly Roll, Gwen Stefani, and others are on the roster for the FireAid benefit event that Live Nation, AEG, and the Azoff Company are hosting at the Intuit Dome on January 30.

The horrific wildfires began in the Pacific Palisades on January 7 and quickly expanded to other communities in Los Angeles. Massive evacuations, the devastation of houses, buildings, and acres, as well as fatalities, have all resulted from the catastrophic flames.
