The controversy began when Buffalo Bills fans targeted the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback with a Kermit the Frog puppet dressed in Mahomes’ jersey.

The puppet was hung from a pole outside Highmark Stadium in downtown Buffalo on Sunday, November 17, sparking outrage on social media. Taylor Swift stepped in to support her friend Brittany Mahomes after her husband Patrick was seemingly targeted by Buffalo Bills fans.

Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, has also found the incident troubling, according to an insider, per DailyMail. The source revealed, “Taylor’s friends said she and Travis found it incredibly disturbing.

She has talked to Brittany who was really taken aback.” The insider also drew a parallel between this disturbing stunt and the recent burglaries targeting Kelce and Mahomes’ properties in October.

For context, Kelce’s $6 million home in Leawood, Kansas, was burglarized while the Chiefs were playing the New Orleans Saints at Arrowhead Stadium on October 7, with Swift in the stands. Meanwhile, Mahomes’ Belton, Missouri, home was also targeted, with jerseys, medals, trophies, and other items stolen.

The source shared, “Considering the recent burglaries and then to have this stunt with Kermit happen goes to show all of them that they really need to be vigilant when it comes to their security.”

The insider added, “They would all like to find out who did this, and footage should reveal it. Not to press charges, per say, but just to know that it was nothing more sinister than a joking Bills fan.”
