Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez first met on a double-date while they were respectively dating Joe Jonas and Nick Jonas in 2008. While those young romances did not last, Swift and Gomez remained best friends.
Flash forward to 2025, both pop stars are in love. Swift is dating Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce while Gomez is engaged to music producer Benny Blanco.
When the “Only Murders in the Building” star announced her engagement on Instagram in December, “yes I will be the flower girl,” Swift commented.
While the two couples have not been photographed publicly, the 32-year-old singer and her future husband confirmed they’ve hung out with Swift while discussing the first party they attended together on “Spotify’s Countdown To.”
“I don’t know if this was the first but it was actually really funny. As a couple we went to Taylor’s party after some awards show,” Gomez answers.
”I don’t know it was kind of cute, but I was mortified,” she adds. “Apparently cool people don’t show up to parties on time.”
“We’re the first people at every single party when I go with you. You show up when like my mother shows up to a party,” Blanco, 37, joked. “No, I thought you were gonna talk about the fact that no one knew we were dating and we were hiding.“
During a joint appearance on “Hot Ones,” where guests answer questions as they eat spicy chicken wings, Blanco asked his thoughts on Swift as a musician.
“I honestly didn’t know — before we started dating, obviously I was aware of Taylor Swift’s music, but I wasn’t like a true Swiftie,” he said.

But that all changed after amid his relationship with the “It Ain’t Me” singer. “Now I’ll be like, ‘Put that song on’— how does that one go again?” Blanco gushes. “We’re in the car, and I’m just like wow, we’re singing Taylor Swift songs from 10 years ago, and I feel free.”
“They’re timeless. What can I say?” Gomez adds.
One fan commented, “Singing Taylor’s classics on repeat. can’t blame him, those songs hit differently.” Another person posted, “A swiftie turning her bf into a swiftie is the original swiftie move. Selena is a real one.”
