    Rock Legend Facing Backlash for Controversial Taylor Swift Comments

    Not too many artists out there today, if any, can compete with the immense popularity of Taylor Swift.

    Through the years, the multi-Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter has proven that her impact on her fans and in the industry is unlike anything that has been seen in the past.

     

     

    In December, Swift’s near-two-year “Eras Tour” concert series came to its conclusion after a staggering 149 shows across five continents. The tour broke all sorts of records, including the fact that it grossed over $2 billion in ticket sales.

    Despite her unbridled status, however, Swift, who is currently dating Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, has never been short of critics.

     

     

    One of them happens to be rock legend John Lyndon, who was the frontman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame band Sex Pistols. Lyndon, 69, shared his unfiltered opinion of Swift, and it is clear that he is not a fan of the “Fortnight” singer.

    “She’s incredibly dull,” he told NME in a recent interview. “There’s a whole history of that kind of singer in America: the pop teenage trivia thing.

    What she’s grown into is too elaborate and she’s trapped by not meaning to annoy her fanbase – oh (expletive) off!” Lyndon then went on to predict what the future holds for Swift.

     

     

    “No really, it’s just daft,” he continued. “She’s got no place to go, so it’s gone into swishy ballroom-gown vibe. She’s going to be another one of those that ends up in Vegas, because that’s the only place left and that’s no future at all, is it?”

    Unsurprisingly, Swift’s fans were quick to call out the rock icon for his comments. Lyndon is now facing backlash for what he said about their beloved idol.

    “Jobless and unknown fossil John Lydon (who we have to google his name) has talked (expletive) about Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga recently,” a post on X read.

    “insane that someone looking like him has the balls to talk about THE taymother lmao imagine,” said another. “Taylor lives rent free in her h@ters mind…they envy her success since they know they will never reach her level. And who even is this w!erdo to speak on her, never even heard of him,” declared a user.

    “this piece of garbage man is clearly unable understand that the legacy taylor will leave behind is going to be bigger than any vegas residency ever.

    taylor is a true phenomenon and he has to either accept that or keep ignoring it like the irrelevant loser that he is,” a Swiftie wrote.

    “saying that as if Taylor isn’t currently carrying the music industry on her back is so unserious skskdjaksk it’s always some forgotten dude who thought he played ‘edgy’ music in the 80s,” another reacted. “i doubt even google can tell me who that is,” a fan said.

    As one of the above posts mentioned, it wasn’t just Swift who Lyndon took aim at. The British-born singer also slammed Lady Gaga, who he said he “doesn’t like as a human being.”

    Swifties can be very protective of her, and Lyndon has felt their full wrath here.
