After making a sizable donation to a children’s charity, award-winning musician Taylor Swift once again won over many hearts.
Swift gave $250,000 to the Kansas City-based non-profit foundation Operation Breakthrough to enable it to increase the number of children from underserved communities it serves.
In an interview with Bryan West of USA Today Network, CEO Mary Esselman revealed that she received a call from Swift, 35, immediately regarding the kind act.
Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, has been a vocal supporter and financial backer of Operation Breakthrough for the past ten years, according to the story.
According to Esselman, “He’s just a down-to-earth guy,” After school, he would visit the children without any media to greet them. He had small pizza parties a few times.
“He’s been someone that the kids see almost as a regular person, and he remembers their names.”
According to West, the funds from Swift will be divided among the early learners program, the before-and-after-school program, and the workforce development and entrepreneurship program.
“Maybe one of these times she’ll (Swift) pop along with Travis,” added Esselman.
The pop star has been contributing significantly to Kansas City ever since she began dating the 35-year-old Kelce in 2023. She recently surprised the young patients at a children’s hospital by coming to cheer them up.
She also frequently attends Chiefs games, such as Saturday’s 27-19 victory over the Houston Texans.
