The Kansas City Chiefs made it 4-0 on Sunday after a 17-10 win against the Los Angeles Chargers at the SoFi Stadium.
Her boyfriend Travis Kelce and the Chiefs, however, had to pull off the win without Taylor Swift in attendance after the multi-Grammy Award-winning recording artist was a no-show for what turned out to be the second straight game.
Swift’s absence came despite reports stating that she had plans to attend the Chargers game in LA after missing the Chiefs’ Week 3 win over the Atlanta Falcons at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. This was not the case on Sunday, though.
The reason that was cited for Swift’s Week 3 absence in Atlanta was the fact that she spent some time in New York City with gal pal Gigi Hadid.
While it is currently unclear as to why the “Karma” singer was nowhere to be seen again in Week 4, a valid theory has surfaced. According to Mehera Bonner of Cosmopolitan, Swift may have had a scheduling conflict amid the upcoming resumption of her “The Eras Tour” concert run.
“TBD on why Taylor was unable to make it to Sunday’s game, but she starts up the Eras Tour next month so it’s entirely possible she’s preparing for that,” Bonner wrote.
“And for what it’s worth, the Chiefs have one more game before the tour starts, so she could be in attendance then.” This theory falls in line with the previous report explaining why attending the Falcons game just “wasn’t possible” for Swift.
The same report indicates that she is busy preparing for the next leg of her concert tour, which resumes on October 18 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.
As Bonner indicated, though, it is still very much possible that Swift returns to support the Chiefs in their next contest.
It also helps that this will be a home game at Arrowhead Stadium (both of Swift’s appearances this season have been in Kansas City) when the two-time defending champs take on the New Orleans Saints on Monday, October 7. That will be Swift’s last chance to attend another Chiefs game before “The Eras Tour” goes back on the road.
