Taylor Swift superfan Nikki Glaser opened up about her deep admiration for the pop star in an interview on Dax Shepard’s “Armchair Expert” podcast.
Despite being a true-blue Swiftie, the comedian revealed a sad reflection on being in the same room as Taylor Swift and other big celebrities alike.
At the 2025 Grammy Awards, where she and the pop star were both nominated in different categories, the 40-year-old mentioned choosing not to approach the “Bad Blood” hitmaker despite seeing her. However, Glaser doesn’t just avoid Swift at awards shows without reason; she believes the singer is likely overwhelmed by the constant fan attention.
Ironically for her, it was the complete opposite. She admitted that, rather than feeling elated, she often felt down after attending high-profile events and being around people she had looked up to.
“I generally after awards shows get pretty depressed no matter what happens because I’m around all these famous people that I put on a pedestal, and I kind of see the façade of it all and the desperation,” she confessed.
Moreover, this made her reflect on how celebrities, despite being glammed up and dressed to the nines, are “clamoring to be noticed and a little bit disappointed” if things don’t go as planned. In addition to this, there was an unavoidable feeling of pressure and dissatisfaction that came with fame.
“It makes me a little bit sad, ‘cause I’m like, no matter how big you get, you kind of worry about who’s in the room, who’s looking at you, where you’re seated,” Glaser said, adding, “I kind of go into a depression afterward.”
Despite keeping her distance from Swift, Glaser considers herself a die-hard Swiftie after spending a fortune on the singer’s recent world tour.
Glaser previously told People that she spent almost $100,000 on concert tickets to attend 22 shows on the “Eras Tour.” The total includes not just the tickets but also travel expenses like hotels and merchandise as well as her guests’ expenses.
