As Jason Kelce was exiting “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” earlier this week, he ran into a stressful situation.
Fans gathered behind a fence on Thursday, November 21, trying to collect signatures. When Kelce refused to engage with the throng, their impatience increased, and one fan in particular, who was anxious to get a signature, started yelling obscenities as Kelce got into his car.
The person quickly expressed regret for what he had done and apologized to Jason Kelce.
The man attempted to coerce the host of “New Heights” into approaching the group by hurling a number of profanities at him. According to video that TMZ Sports was able to obtain, he also told the now-retired NFL great that he “ain’t nobody special” and called him a “d-ck” for turning down their request.
Kelce, who appeared to be backed by security, responded to the insults, saying he’s “not trying to be a d-ck.” The man shot back, “I don’t care — it’s not the autograph, it’s the attitude.”
Kelce explained further, telling the crowd he doesn’t sign autographs for people who “follow” his travel locations. The man replied, “We’re not following you. We get every guest that comes here,” while another person in the group added, “This is public information!”
Claiming Kelce is “nothing,” the man persisted in berating and cursing him while contrasting him with other “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” guests who had signed autographs for the group. “You don’t have the time, but Harrison Ford and Morgan Freeman do.” “To Kelce,” said the man. “F-ck you.”
As seen in the video, Kelce finally changed his mind and got out of the car to sign autographs for the group. Kelce assured the audience, “I’m not attempting to be impolite.” “I’m not attempting to be cruel.”
One admirer defended Kelce despite the interruption, stating, “Jason, you’re nice, I swear!”
The man who had just been yelling at Kelce abruptly changed his tone to one of apology and praise, as if he was ashamed of what he had done. “Do not put that on the f-cking internet,” he said, admitting he was “ashamed of that moment.”
He went on to apologize, telling Kelce, “I have love for you,” to which the former athlete responded warmly. “I have love for you, okay,” Kelce replied. “And I’m sorry. I didn’t mean anything about it, I promise.”
The interaction ended on a positive note, with Kelce shaking hands with the man and even signing an autograph for him.
