Last month Kelly Stafford made headlines when she admitted she was jealous of the attention paid to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce when their romance kicked off ahead of the 2023 NFL season.
The wife of Los Angeles Rams star quarterback Matthew Stafford admitted she wasn’t a fan of the coverage of the couple and how it took the spotlight off of football.
“Now, I have never once said I didn’t like Taylor Swift — ever,” Stafford said via PEOPLE. “But I will say I kind of got tired of the Chiefs’ coverage of it — actually the NFL’s coverage — of this budding relationship last year. And, can she do anything about that? No, she can’t.”
“It was a good business decision for the NFL but I almost felt like it was outshining the games. And that’s what bothered me. I was a little jealous of the fact that they were getting all this attention and all of a sudden the football game was the sideshow. So yeah maybe I let jealousy get the best of me.”
While she admitted to getting jealous at times, Stafford also revealed her podcast, titled “The Timeout” is “literally thanks to Taylor Swift.”
“’The Timeout’ is literally thanks to Taylor Swift because she’s gotten a lot of women (to) football,” Kelly said. “And ‘The Timeout’ is literally based about football. … It’s basically like learning the basics so people can enjoy it more when they’re watching it with their significant other.”

While she wasn’t initially pleased with Kelce’s new relationship she’s since come around. It all came full circle on Friday night when Kelce’s sister-in-law, Kylie, announced she was expecting her fourth daughter with husband and former NFL star Jason Kelce, which prompted a classy message from Kelly.
