According to Page Six, Taylor Swift celebrated her 35th birthday on Friday by spending the evening with her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs. According to a source who spoke to the magazine, Kelce made the evening truly memorable, but the couple kept the celebrations small—”just them two.”
The insider claimed that “he got her a ton of gifts.” She also had a cake from a bakery in Leawood, Kansas, according to fans:
Chiefs heiress Gracie Hunt shared an Instagram Story earlier that day showing Kelce at an NFL charity event. He was able to “leave early to go be with Taylor for her birthday,” according to the insider who spoke to Page Six.
The day before her birthday, Swift was shown in a children’s hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. It was Swift’s first public appearance since the conclusion of her Eras Tour, even if Kelce wasn’t accompanying her. Additionally, it indicated that she was interacting with her partner, who works there.
Kelce was unable to attend Swift’s final three Eras Tour performances in Vancouver last week due to his commitments to the Chiefs. The NFL athlete had several games that either directly interfered with her concerts or were the very following day, so the last show he was able to go was in Indianapolis on November 2.
He wanted to make Swift’s birthday “extra special” because of his absence, a source told Page Six last week.
“Travis has only let a few of those closest to him know what he has in store for Taylor because he doesn’t want to ruin any surprises,” the insider said, adding that he had “been shopping for Christmas and birthday gifts for Taylor for quite a while.”
“[He is] not the type to leave these things to the last minute so he’s been picking up items here and there for the past several months whenever he has a chance,” the source shared. “[Some] gifts are things Taylor has casually mentioned she would like…Travis makes sure to always listen even when Taylor doesn’t realize he is.”
Despite their hectic work schedules, the couple has managed to find time to spend this holiday season together. According to reports, Swift and Kelce spent Thanksgiving with their families in Nashville. The singer and his mother, Donna Kelce, attended his home game at Arrowhead Stadium the following day.
Last year, Swift’s birthday couldn’t be spent with Kelce because Kelce had practice on that day. In the end, she threw a party at The Box in New York City with pals. Sabrina Carpenter, Blake Lively, Gigi Hadid, Zoë Kravitz, and Gracie Abrams were among those there.
