A federal inquiry has been launched into the recent break-ins at the houses of Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes.
TMZ was informed by sources While the FBI is working with the local Leawood police on the Kelce burglary, it is also assisting the deputies of the Cass County (Missouri) Sheriff’s Office in their investigation into the Mahomes robbery.
Furthermore, TMZ claims that the federal government isn’t just interested because the victims are well-known Kansas City Chiefs players. Instead, the FBI’s involvement in the inquiry suggests that these offenses are connected to others in different jurisdictions. Additionally, insiders tell TMZ that there are other home invasions in the region.
A request for comment from DailyMail.com was not immediately answered by FBI representatives.
Last month, while the teammates were away playing for the Chiefs, Travis, Brittany Mahomes, and Kelce were robbed at their residences in the Kansas City region.
Around midnight on October 6, as the reigning Super Bowl champions were getting ready to meet the New Orleans Saints, it was first reported that Mahomes’ opulent home in Belton, Missouri, had been broken into.
A few hours later, on October 7, the day the Chiefs defeated the New Orleans Saints at Arrowhead Stadium with Taylor Swift in the seats, it is said that Kelce’s opulent $6 million mansion in Leawood, Kansas, was targeted.
According to the report, Travis’ home was broken into and his back door was damaged, and $20,000 in cash was taken. Whether anything was taken from Mahomes’ property is unknown.
Police were notified of the break-in at Kelce’s place at some point on October 8.
Where Kelce and Mahomes were during the break-ins is unknown. On the nights before home games, several NFL teams do stay at hotels.
On the day her boyfriend’s house was broken into, Swift was supporting Kelce and Mahomes during Kansas City’s Monday Night Football game against New Orleans.
Mahomes completed 28 of his 39 throws for 331 yards and an interception as the home team won 26–13, extending their undefeated start to the season. Meanwhile, Kelce had 70 yards from nine catches.
In an attempt to gain more seclusion, the latter moved into his 17,000 square foot Leawood house soon after his well-publicized romance with Swift went public last year.
In November 2023, DailyMail.com disclosed that the pop sensation had moved in with him in the opulent six-bedroom, six-bathroom home.
Only twenty minutes from Arrowhead, Kelce’s house is situated in a gated enclave at the end of a cul de sac.
After being tormented by insane fans at his former home in the Briarcliff West neighborhood of Kansas City during his engagement with Swift, the future Hall of Famer was in dire need of more privacy.
In 2020, Mahomes and his spouse, Brittany, moved into their Belton estate. There is now a golf course and a practicing football field on the property.
