Kansas City Chiefs tight endTravis Kelce is no stranger to making headlines.
The future Hall of Famer became the first player in NFL history after turning 35 to register 14-plus receptions in a single game when he hauled in a career-high 14 catches for 100 yards on Monday night against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
However, his play on the field had nothing to do with why he was trending on Wednesday night. The star tight end thought he would share a nice post on social media celebrating the team’s victory on Monday night with a few photos.
Fans in the comments section had other ideas.
Given his girlfriend Taylor Swift’s political endorsement of Kamala Harris, fans all flocked to his comments section to complain about the election results. Some were upset Harris didn’t win, while others were wondering when he and Swift are going to “leave the country” as a result of Donald Trump being elected.

One woman wrote, “Little tone deaf brother. Do better.”
“You finishing the season before you and Taylor move out the country? I’m feeling unburdened by what has been,” offered another.
Others had a more sensible take that Kelce is allowed to post football content – no matter the timing.
“It blows my mind that some of you think he shouldn’t be posting about his football game today because the election didn’t go how you wanted. This is a football players page, not a political page.
No one can post anything other than how upset they are about the election? Get out of here with that. There is enough places on social media to talk about politics,” the fan said.
“Is it possible to not make everything about politics and just let him celebrate the win?” questioned another.
Swift’s candidate may not have won the White House, but her boyfriend and the Chiefs are sitting with an unblemished 8-0 record heading into a divisional battle with the Denver Broncos.
