When questioned about her relationship with Taylor Swift’s mother and family, Donna Kelce responded in a kind way.
Over the past year, Swift and Travis Kelce’s mother have gotten to know one another well; they have been sighted together in a box at Arrowhead Stadium, supporting the Kansas City Chiefs tight end. Although Donna enthusiastically supported her son’s relationship with the pop sensation, she also disclosed her connection to Swift’s family.
Donna made an appearance at the debut of Travis’s gruesome crime horror series, “Grotesquerie.” She discussed getting to know her prospective daughter-in-law’s family there with Entertainment Tonight.
“It’s still really, really new, and I really appreciate it,” Donna said. “Wonderful people, very down to Earth, very Midwestern. Ohio and Pennsylvania are right next to each other, so we kind of understand each other, so it’s really kind of nice. It feels like home.”
Donna also spoke about Swift visiting Kelce on the set of Ryan Murphy’s latest series featuring the tight end. “I just think it’s important to support the people you really care about. I think that was very, very helpful,” she added.
The couple has been dating for more than a year and has helped each other out in all of their endeavors. During the summer, Kelce went to Europe to accompany his partner on the European leg of her The Eras Tour. He was seen out and about in Amsterdam, Dublin, and London, where he even saw the tight end make an appearance on stage.
During the second half of the previous season, Swift was frequently seen watching the Chiefs play when her global tour permitted it. Throughout the previous season, she went to 13 games with her family and also spent time with Donna’s in-laws.
Donna was previously seen at the NFL season opener versus the Baltimore Ravens, watching the Chiefs and Kelce in action. The 71-year-old was spotted wearing a Chiefs cap with a subliminal reference to Kelce and Swift.
The couple’s bespoke embroidery and Kelce’s No. 87 jersey were featured on the black hat. In a subtle nod to the months in which the couple were born—December and October—images of a white cosmos and a holly, the birth flowers of those months, were also carved onto the front. Their supporters and family have noticed this.
Travis’ brother Jason made fun of the narrative of “Grotesquerie,” in which Niecy Nash-Betts’ character Detective Lois Tryon searches for a serial killer suspected of horrific atrocities, such as “boiling” a small child.
Jason said on social media, “If Travis boiled a baby, I’m gonna be real p-—— #Grotesquerie,” that he would be upset if his brother was revealed to be the murderer. The topic of Jason’s three young girls seeing the graphic and horrifying series was also explored by the two brothers.
After joking to Jason about letting his nieces watch the show, Travis quickly advised against it, he said: “Dude! That was completely a joke. Do not let the girls watch this show. I don’t know if they’ll even like understand what’s going on in the show. It’s very advanced for toddlers.”
