Donna Kelce revealed to Page Six why she thinks Taylor Swift is the perfect match for her son Travis Kelce. When we caught up with Donna at the premiere of “Grotesquerie,” which features the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, in New York City on Monday, she exclusively told us that she finds his high-profile relationship with the pop star “kind of interesting.”
“He’s a good guy. He really is. He’s good,” she gushed. “He’s kind. He’s generous. And from what I understand, so is she”. Donna Kelce also showed her love for Travis, as he goes through some trying time in his career this season, on the red carpet, turning up in a maroon sparkly pantsuit in support of his big TV debut in Ryan Murphy’s horror show, which premieres with two episodes on Sept. 25 at 10 p.m. ET / PT on FX and the next day on Hulu.
The 71-year-old — who is also mom to retired Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce — explained that she’s “always told” both her children, “If you do something you love to do, you will get really good at it”. She also added that ““Oh, it’s so awesome. Just to be able to see your kids do what they absolutely love to do”.
Donna explained just how incredibly proud she is of Travis for trying something new with Grotesquerie, “I think this is something he’s kinda been doing his whole life,” she said. “He loves to be in front of people. He loves to be the center of attention.”
Donna will continue to support her son, as he experiences one of the slowest start to his career this season. Mama Kelce is undoubtedly getting ready for the severe nature of the upcoming concert.
In Grotesquerie, which also stars Micaela Diamond, Courtney B. Vance, Lesley Manville, and Niecy Nash-Betts, the story revolves around Niecy’s character, Detective Lois Tyron, as she looks into a string of horrible crimes that have shaken a tiny town. She joins forces with Micaela’s nun persona, and the two start piecing together hints, only to run into more problems than answers.
Despite the frightening storylines, Travis, 34, had a great time on set, even if his involvement is being kept a secret until the show’s launch.
