Donna Kelce Reacts To Taylor Swift Being Booed at Super Bowl

Travis Kelce, playing in his fifth Super Bowl in six seasons, couldn’t walk away with his fourth ring after the Kansas City Chiefs fell to the Philadelphia Eagles 40-22 in Super Bowl LIX.

Now, the first-ever Super Bowl three-peat will have to wait. Kelce’s girlfriend, Taylor Swift, was in attendance for the game at the Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.

So were his parents, Ed and Donna, and brother, Jason. But it wasn’t all fun and games for the pop singer and Travis’ parents, watching the Chiefs down 34-0 in the third quarter. The Superdome made sure the crowd was aware of Swift’s presence during the game, showing the Grammy-winning artist on the jumbotron.

However, instead of applause, Swift received a loud array of boos from many fans in attendance at the game.

According to Daily Mail, Kelce took notice of the boos raining down on his girlfriend but felt “helpless” because she was in the stands and he was on the field.

There was nothing he could do. “Travis was aware of Taylor getting booed, and he felt helpless,” a source told Daily Mail. ” Seeing the look on her face got to him. He always protects her and it broke his heart.” Kelce’s family, including Donna, did not appreciate Swift receiving boos as well.

According to Page Six, Donna and the rest of the Kelce family felt “awful” when hearing the crowd’s message to her youngest son’s girlfriend. “Travis’ family felt awful when Taylor was booed,” an insider told Page Six.

“They don’t think anybody deserves that.” Swift and Donna have gotten to know each other well over the past year. The two have sat together many times in the Kelce suite over the past two seasons.

Overall, Swift has now attended 23 Chiefs games, including nine at Arrowhead this season. Donna also has high praise for the “Bad Blood” singer, knowing Swift won’t “use Travis for his fame and that she truly loves and cares about him for who he is,” per Page Six.

Now, Travis will enter the offseason with a big decision to make: will he retire or return to make another run at a fourth Super Bowl ring?
