Niecy Nash-Betts plays Detective Lois Tryon in the Ryan Murphy-created series, which is slated to premiere its first two episodes on Wednesday, September 25. Detective Lois Tryon sees a “series of heinous crimes” in a tiny city that feel “eerily personal.”
“At home, Lois grapples with a strained relationship with her daughter (Raven Goodwin), a husband in long-term hospital care and her own inner demons,” a synopsis explains. “With no leads and unsure of where to turn, she accepts the help of “Sister Megan” (Micaela Diamond), a nun and journalist with the Catholic Guardian.”
“Sister Megan, with her own difficult past, has seen the worst of humanity, yet she still believes in its capacity for good. Lois, on the other hand, fears the world is succumbing to evil. As Lois and Sister Megan string together clues, they find themselves ensnared in a sinister web that only seems to raise more questions than answers,” the synopsis adds.
Lesley Manville, who plays Nurse Redd in the ten-episode series, Nicholas Alexander Chavez, who plays Father Charlie, and Courtney B. Vance, who plays Marshall Tryon, Lois’ husband, are among the other cast members.
The NFL player “has such an exciting character in this show,” according to Chavez, who previously told PEOPLE that he “really enjoyed getting to know” Travis while filming, despite the fact that information about his character are still unknown.
“He handled the material like a pro. He’s awesome. He’s a friendly and cool guy,” said Chavez.
