To say that Taylor Swift has had a significant impact on the Kansas City Chiefs would be an understatement. The Chiefs were already Super Bowl champions even before Travis Kelce started dating the “Eras Tour” headliner.
But the fact of the matter is that the team’s popularity grew immensely once Swift came into the picture. This has been the case since Kelce and Swift started going out more than a year ago, and it’s hard to deny that the “Fortnight” singer’s impact on both the Chiefs and the NFL as a whole is only getting bigger.
Chiefs President Mark Donovan recently made an appearance on the CNBC show “Squawk Box,” which gave him an opportunity to speak about Swift and her romance with the All-Pro tight end.
The high-ranking team executive made his thoughts on the multi-Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter perfectly clear.
“I think the best thing I can say about the whole relationship and the impact it’s had on us is, Taylor Swift is an authentic member of the Kansas City Chiefs kingdom,” Donovan said. “She is an authentic fan, and that matters to our fans and our fanbase, and it matters to us and we try to respect that.”
As Donovan stated, the Kansas City faithful have welcomed Swift with open arms, and he believes one of the biggest reasons behind this is the fact that she’s a genuine Chiefs fan.
The fact that she takes time out of her extremely busy schedule not only to support her boyfriend but also to cheer on the entire team is a clear testament to this fact — and Chiefs Kingdom has grown to love her for that.
