After Travis Kelce‘s performance against the Houston Texans on Saturday, Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is convinced that no tight end in NFL history is better than his 35-year-old star. Reid made that abundantly clear in his postgame presser, as he emphasized that Kelce is the GOAT (greatest of all time) in his position.
It comes after Kelce tallied seven receptions for 117 yards and one touchdown in the Chiefs’ 23-14 win over the Texans.
It was arguably the best game of the season for the Chiefs TE, who also recorded his longest play of the campaign with a 49-yard catch-and-run in the second quarter. “He’s the greatest tight end there has been,” Reid boldly declared while discussing Kelce’s performance in their 23-14 win over the Texans.

While Andy Reid may have some bias, considering that Travis Kelce is his player and he helped make him one of the best in the history of the game, it’s also hard to argue that the Chiefs star has a strong case for the GOAT TE title.
Against the Texans, Kelce made history by becoming the first player ever to have at least 100 receptions in seven consecutive seasons, including the playoffs. Furthermore, he also broke his tie with Jerry Rice for the most 100-yard postseason games, increasing his tally to nine.
With three Super Bowl titles and 10 Pro Bowl selections in Kelce’s career résumé as well, Reid’s claim certainly has merit.
